Berkeley, CA, Nov. 1, 2020 – GeneTether Inc., a Bay Area biotech company focused on developing technologies to increase the correction efficiency of targeted genome editing technologies, today announced that its Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer, Geoffrey Sargent, Ph.D., was named a 2020 Inspirational Instructor by UC Berkeley Extension.
“Teaching is an incredibly important part of my life and I am grateful for the opportunity to do so at UC Berkeley Extension. To be recognized as an inspiration to my students truly means the world to me,” said Dr. Sargent, who teaches Biochemistry, Stem Cell Biology, and Research and Discovery courses at UC Berkeley Extension.

Each year, UC Berkeley Extension’s academic departments nominate their most outstanding instructors for consideration by Extension’s Academic Policy Committee to receive the Inspired Teaching Award in various categories, including Teaching Achievement, New Instructor, and Curriculum Development. Selected instructors are honored at an annual reception and receive a certificate of recognition.
